A Technology Innovator
The City of Los Angeles is a technology innovator in the Smart Mobility space. Their vision is to create a 'digital mirror of city infrastructure' in order to enable greater flexibility and more active management of vehicular traffic. Two key programs to achieve this vision include LA's Mobility Data Specification program and its ATSAC 3.0 program.
As it relates to Context-Sensitive Streets, LA has crafted a vision of Livable Streets, or safe, healthy streets that bring communities together. This vision integrates goals from LADOT's Vision Zero, Active Transportation, and Open Streets programs, among other programs.
As LA moves forward, they should consider opportunities to integrate context-sensitive street design objectives into their innovative smart mobility practices.
